Depart Los Angeles for the short drive to Anaheim, home to Mickey Mouse and the original Disneyland. You may explore this fantasyland of magic before continuing south to sunny San Diego. Leave the Pacific Coast behind and cross the coastal mountains before descending into the fertile Imperial Valley where the cool waters of the Colorado River irrigate crops of alfalfa, onions and lettuce. Continue driving east, along the Mexican border to Yuma once better known as a stage stop for the Butterfield Stage. A morning departure north into Utah passes through scenic Kanab and takes you to the land of hoodoos known as Bryce Canyon National Park.
